Welcome and Thank You for being interested in serving the young people of our parish.
As we enter this time of discernment regarding being good stewards in our parish community, our hope is that you will find a place in our Youth Ministry program to share your gifts and talents.
Teenagers are amazing people to work with. There is not a time that I come together with them that I do not take away more than I have input. Those that we serve are full of energy, fun, vitality, compassion, intelligence, beauty, and they thirst for knowledge of their faith and how to keep it with them in their daily lives.
The Vision's Team - this is our leadership team - has been working very hard to come up with programs that will meet our teens where they are, feed them both physically and spiritually, provide them with a "home" within our parish and help them discover, develop and share the gifts and talents that God gave them. This is a very tall order. It is not one that can be accomplished by one or two people. It takes an entire team. A team made up of members from across the generational board. Each generation has different insights into what it takes to live as a Christian in today's society and our teens need to hear those different view points and insights in a safe environment. I know that some of you think that you are not qualified to teach the teens or that you have nothing to offer them but be assured that if God thinks that you do have that something he will nudge you this way - PLEASE do not ignore his nudge. We need YOU!
Along the side bar I have listed just some of the ways we could use your help. If any of these interest you in the least or if you have ideas of your own please fill out your commitment card and state that you are interested in sharing your gifts and talents with the "GEN 1" Youth Ministry program and we will set up an informational meeting in early December to get everyone to work.
